Favorite Chocolate Frosting

Chocolate Frosting | Sweet Estelle's Baking Supply
My birthday was this past week and my girls and I made a yellow cake with chocolate frosting. My favorite frosting is easy to make and very tasty.

Favorite Chocolate Frosting

- 8 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 1/2 sticks of unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup sifted confectioner's sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt

1) Melt chocolate and cool.

2) At medium speed, beat cooled chocolate and butter. Add vanilla.

3) Add confectioner's sugar, 1/4 cup at a time to taste. Add a pinch of salt.

4) Once blended, frosting can be used immediately or refrigerated. If the frosting isn't stiff enough, place the bowl in the fridge for cooling before frosting cake or cupcakes. If it's been refrigerated and gets too solid, beat it again in the mixer til smooth.

Makes 1 1/2 cups

We sprinkled it with some of my favorite confetti quin sprinkles from the shop and added a few mismatched candles from birthdays past.
